Knowing what to do if you are in a car accident can make the claims process so much easier. Follow these simple tips:

Contact the police immediately to report the accident.
Do not leave the scene until the police direct you to do so.
Take photos of any vehicles involved, other property damaged and the accident scene.
Exchange insurance/contact information with other parties involved - name, phone number, email, insurance carrier name & policy number, agent name and phone.
Collect names, phone numbers and email addresses for any witnesses.
Remove any valuables from your vehicle before it is towed.
