On a regular workday at the office, you may consider that you have one of the worst jobs in the world. However, an office job is one of the safest workplace environments. Some posts force workers to put their lives at risk to earn a living. Some jobs are not for the faint-of-heart because of its hazardous work areas.

Despite its unsafe environments, high-risk jobs are essential to society. However, we need to acknowledge how brave men and women sacrifice themselves for the progress of humanity. Here are five of the most dangerous work environments in the world.
Oil Rigs
Working in an oil rig can be very stressful, both physically and mentally. Oil platforms settled offshore have workers on 16-hour shifts, which means they have very little sleep for most of their days. Because of its oil collection, rigs are vulnerable to fires and explosions.

Forests
Logging is one of the deadliest jobs in the world. Lumberjacks work with dangerous tools such as axes and chainsaws. Misuse or errors while working with the tools may result in amputation or death. Logging also puts lumberjacks at risk if the trees fall on the direction of the workers. Dangerous predators wandering the forest can also be a threat.

Steel Factory
Despite its strict safety and health rules, steel factories remain dangerous work areas. Workers put themselves at risk when heating steel and using equipment without proper protocol. Most of the fundamental processes like welding, soldering, and molding require discipline, knowledge, and awareness of safety measures.

Mining Sites
Mining exposes workers to hazardous chemicals, which forces miners to wear emergency breathing devices. Carbon monoxide and methane gas make for a toxic workplace, increasing the risk for miners succumbing fatal health conditions. Mining sites are also prone to cave-ins and explosions, which endangers miners’ lives.

Construction Sites
Construction sites include carpentry work, high-rise buildings, bridges, roofs. Almost all of the construction areas are dangerous. Roofers get exposed to high temperatures, which is a health risk. Despite its constantly-updated safety measures, working in construction sites puts workers at risk of falling from great heights and many catastrophic accidents. Workers can also sustain injuries from dangerous tools.

Despite the five workplace environments’ safety hazards, they remain essential jobs in our society. However, buying commercial insurance for contractors and trades.

Workplace safety is more to a query than a person thinks. It is extremely important for each and every hired help in the industry. Because all the employees want to work in a safe and protected atmosphere. Safety is a key factor to promote wellness. It is a moral responsibility of the organization to look after its hired help’s safety. A small injury in the duty station can employ major loss to the family. So, if the workplace surrounding is unsafe, then make it safe before allowing workers to work.

Whether offshore or inland, the work of an underwater welder can be extremely perilous. Electric shocks, decompression sickness and drowning are some of the leading reasons why this is a career not for the faint hearted.
